Its not the democratic convention but since many of you have expressed an interest in knowing what to the What 2 Wear series so here is one more: W2W to a Concert!  Here is what I wore to the highly anticipated and super fly Mary J Blige Concert.  If you are looking for outfit inspiration, look no further than Mary JB herself.  She is best known for her down home style, thigh high boots and pants suits, so you can’t go wrong with mirroring her style but this year for Mary is all about grown up style.  She is applying that in her life and in her style, so pick something grown and sexy! She looked fantastic and I loved her up-do! Here are a few other things to consider:
  • Pump it Up: Pump up your look with a bright suede pump or a fun, edgy heel. I went fit a 5 inch black pumps with metallic polka dots from Bakers but we had amazing box seats so walking was not something I had to worry about. Concert stadiums can have steep slippery stairs and the lines are long on the way out so if you have on the right shoe you can look cute and have a fast getaway using the stairs.
  • Layer on the comfort: You never know the temperature inside a stadium and you also want to be prepared for the elements outside. It was a rainy day last night so my blazer kept me dry by my transparent blouse kept me cool and fly when the place got warm as everyone danced the night away.
  • Dial Up the Sexy: This was Melanie Fiona, D ’Angelo and MJB so you must come correct. Try a single toned dress or transparent top to feel as sexy as the music. There are plenty of after hours spot to hit after the concert like Love so make sure you r outfit is versatile enough to go out if you are so inspired.

If you are planning to attend a concert this year I defiantly recommend this one.  Mary J takes you on a ride of emotions with her old school hits and her spiritually inspired women anthem. It was great if you are still looking for some outfit ideas check out Fashion Bomb Daily or just take a note from the ladies that attended last night, cause they were decked out in all styles bright colored jeans w/ fitted blazers, or edgy flats w/ matching hats,  or go for the classic sexy pumps and a monochromatic dress. Here are a few pictures from the show for your pleasure.
