Graphics that Work Great At Work

I was inspired by an Ann Taylor ad to put together a graphic look that would look great a work.  So I paired this classic color-blocked shift dress (similar)with a sophisticated Anne Klein necklace (similar)from Macy's. Since the look was so tailored I tried a new messy bun look. What do you think? Are you trying any new holiday hair looks? You too should pull out your color-blocked or graphic dresses and pair them with some tights and boots to get a great new fall look.

Pile on a Fresh Fall Palette #1:Chartreuse + Burgundy + Neutral

Color Trend:

Chartreuse + Burgundy + Neutral

Hey Suities! Fall is my favorite season, it is a time for change. A change in the colors of the leaves, the need to wear a jacket and for me a change in lifestyle and location.  I am happy to say that this fall I bought a new home.  Luckily it is one that is not too far from my last. I am so happy about this life change and just like I am happy about this fall's fresh palette of rich jewel tones are making this season's pieces all the more engaging.  The colors look even better piled on in complementary, contrasting, and shades of the same hue like:

  • Cobalt blue and navy
  • Cranberry and yellow
  • Jade and plum
  • Fuchsia and navy
  • Metallic with oxblood
  • Mustard, hunter green & navy
  • Chartreuse and cobalt
  • Citron and burgundy

Many of these colors are already in you closet, you just need to pair them in a vibrant new way.  Check out Lauren Conrad's site to see some of these pairing or just look at how I paired chartreuse with burgundy in order to breathe new life into a older neutral piece.  I am so siked, I took these pics in my front yard.  What fall color pairing are you trying this season?

Harry Potter Halloween

It is almost Thanksgiving I realized that I never had the chance to post a few of my Halloween pictures and since my costumes was so school girl chic I thought I would go ahead a post it.  Here is my husband dressed as Harry Potter (but he looked a little more like Snape), I dressed as Hermione and my daughter was supposed to dress up like Valdemort but ended up dressing like a dementor creature. The point is we had a blast, I cant wait until next year. What fashions did you wear this Halloween?

Pants With Pizazz

One of the must haves for fall this season are printed pants. To be honest, anything that is printed will do! I opted for a printed jumpsuit, that is comfortable, reflects my personality and has a little pizazz. Wake up a work outfit by replacing your go-to pants with a printed version. You can find them for under $30 at everyday places like Ann Taylor's, H&M,and Old Navy

Veteran Style

I felt very blessed to have the day off yesterday. My husband and I both served in the military and for the first 3 years of our marriage we were only in the same place for about 1/2 of it.  So when ever possible, we like to take the day off and spend it together or to at least go get lunch together and say a prayer for all the soldiers still fighting and all of the soldiers before us who have led the way for our rights.  I also am very thankful for the vendors that offer a little something special for veterans like Uno's, who offered a buy 1 get on free entree for people who served.  In honor of my lunch, I sported one of my old military t-shirt's with a blazer.  Military style items are really in right now so grab a military T or a military inspired blazer and rock them with some boots for a look that can take you just about anywhere.
Get the look:
Boots: Nine West
Jeans: Dots
Blazer: American Eagle
Shirt: Army PT Shirt
Purse: Louis Vuitton/Thrifted
Watch: My Grandfathers
Leather Bracelet: Bethany Beach Gift from my daughter
Scarf: Dollar Tree

Plaid Behavior

Trend Translation:
School Girl Plaid

Hey Suites, one of the hot trends for the fall is rocking school girl inspired pieces, like this plaid blazer that I picked up at Target for $34.99. You don't have to take your style back to the 6th grade in order to have fun with this trend.  Just grab some plaid or argyle and get creative.  I just love menswear inspired prints like plaid.  The patterns and fabrics are classic and don't really ever go out of style.  Don't be afraid to mix and match a few summer pieces with your new fall favorites like I did when getting one more look out of this white eyelet dress before I pack it away for the summer.
