Living the Suite Life in 100 Ways: 2 out of 3 Documentaries Watched "Winning Time"

Partially Completed #62: Watched 2 out of 3 documentaries

I walked in on my son watching a great documentary and I just had make time to check off one more movie for the Suite Life List, it was "Winning Time" a documentary about Reggie Miller and his rise from a just a talented child from a talented family to become the basketball legend that we know him as today.  His passion and skills inspire others to do and be better.  His presence of mind and drive to win, changed the game.  I really loved his drive to win championships and finally get from under his sisters large shadow. Cheryl Miller, Reggie's amazingly gifted sister, still holds the record for scoring the most points in a single game, for male or female. She scored 105 points in one single game. The only person that has been close to betting that record was Wilt Chamberlain with scoring 100 points.  Now that is one gifted family.

Living the Suite Life in 100 Ways: Coordinated to the Max for my Girlfriend Reunion

Completed #27. Find a piece of clothing I love regardless of price and buy it

Thank you Target for helping me be coordinated for my Vegas Girlfriend Reunion.  Why wait for your ten and twenty year high school reunion when you can just hold a girlfriend reunion on your own. So that is exactly what we did. My girlfriends, Netta, who came in from Texas and my college and bestie from the military, Jocelyn, was so dedicated to hooking up with the girls that she drove eight hours, pregnant no less, with her cousin and son so that we could have one last yorah!! I was dressed from the occasion in coordinating pieces from Target. I usually do not have greta luck in Target but that luck has now changed. I immediately fell in love with this maxi dress but I didn't love the price but because I found the shoes first and they went perfectly I  just had to get it. Thats another on for the Living the Suite Life List.

Trend Translation: Floral Print Skirt + A Pop of Color

Trend Translation:
Floral Printed Skirt + A Pop of Color

Flowers bloom everywhere in the spring and summer and now they bloom even on the runways. Floral Prints are super hot right now, but they don't have to be expensive or dated like the crazy floral's of the 90's.  I picked up this floral skirt from a local thrift store for $5 and paired it with a bold top if you want to go bolder, just mix and match your prints. I can't wait to see you and your outfits in full bloom.

Trend Report: Colorful Blazer

Summer Trend:
Colorful Blazer

One of the hottest trends in the workplace or on the streets is the colorful blazer.  Pick one that adds interest to any outfit. Go ahead try something different and pair a bold colored blazer with your favorite career smart outfit for maximum impact or just by pairing it with simple pieces you can create an eye cathing look. If you are feeling a bit bolder, mix and match it with other colorful pieces. You can wear these colorful and versatile piece with jeans, short dresses, capris and even shorts.

Bright Now

Bright colored pieces are a must have for the season. They make you feel fun and they right on trend. It is the summer and it is time to be silly! Take a risk the season and mix and match your colored pieces like never before.  Break out those bright jeans and pair them with a bright or printed top. If you make a fashion funny, just blame it on heat, because summer makes you do amazingly crazy things.  I just had to pair this outfit with my sunnies because this bright outfit paired with my bright pink lipstick was a blinding and fashion forward selection for me, but I loved it.  I challenge you to break out  your comfort zone and pair a few colorful pieces together and rock them like never before.

Trend: Stripes & Khaki

The idea of sailor stripes and khaki is a classic combination. As you can see in this picture for Harper's Bazaar, you can dress it up or down. I love how they made this dress more work appropriate by adding the stripes.

Thank you Brigitte Bardot for starting us offOne of my favorite trend this Spring is the nautical trend that designer Karen Walker did so well for her Spring runway show. So this week I challenge you to wear stripes an khaki and send in your pics to living-thesuite-life.blogspot.com.

Gingham Glam

This gingham glam look came straight from an old school movie or at least that is what inspired me to wear it.  I love the movies from the fifties where women are all dressed up and perky in pearls, even if they are only going to a picnic.  So I here I am glammed up for no occasion other than it being summer.  What movies have inspired your wardrobe lately?
