MOD: Grey + Cranberry

The Mix of the Day:
 Grey + Cranberry
As winter goes off into the sunset, so will a few of my wool skirts. Like this one I picked up at the Salvation Army for $4.50. I will be sad to see them go. These warm colored pencil skirts put in some work this season. Which piece did you get the most use out of this winter?

High on Drama, High on Style

Looking for an outfit with a lot of drama. Go for the classic white blazer and black pencil skirt. Every time I wear it I feel like I have been transported back it time. So Greta Garbo!

Country Blues

It was a bit chilly the other day and I had a case of the country blues.  So I put together this counry outfit with a jacket that I love from T.J.Max, it is brown corduroy with a bit of lace. Lace is really in this season and I thought this lace detail on this $5 shirt from Target added a little something extra as well.  As it went my boys were feeling the blues too. This is my husband of 13 years, Lorenzo and Jalen my 6 year old son. He is the youngest of the 4 kids.  They were right in line with Men's fall fashion trends mixing their blue plaid and brown corduroy blazers. I love it when we all match.

Stocking Up on Rich Fall Colors

Falling in love with the fall colors and looking for a way to add them to your wardrobe this season without breaking the bank?  Start by adding rich fall colored stockings to the mix. They are an inexpensive addition that adds just the punch of color you need to kick your outfit up a notch.  Take a note from Ruche's lookbook.

Positively In Love With Pencil Skirts

Posing today in the rain, I am channeling my inner Marilyn Monroe when I picked up this deep burgundy pencil skirt up for $4.50 at Salvation Army and paired it with this mustard H&M belt. Topping it off with a white and green chartreuse printed sweater.

The figure-hugging pencil skirt will make you wiggle like Marilyn Monroe this fall! Setting the stage in Some Like It Hot, Marilyn's skirt became central to her allure. Tight, figure-hugging and to just below the knee, it was a classic pencil skirt. Fast-forward more than 50 years and it’s time to recreate that moment. Pencil skirts are the top shape this season – they seen have been seen everywhere from Donna Karan to Jonathan Saunders, Givenchy and Christopher Kane, and came in every fabric imaginable. Whichever one you choose, it’s time to channel your inner Monroe.

Dont Be Shy- Pull Out the Bright Peices

Does the weather still having you feeling grey like me? Pull out the bright peices. Don't be shy-you can handle the attention. The spotlight will be on the hue, so pair a bright color with a toned down neutral suit. Keep the lines crisp and simple and let the color do all the work.
